Communication requires listening with our eyes. Join our herd in learning how communication plays a vital role in learning horsemanship skills or husbandry skills (as they are called in the equestrian world.) Your child will have the opportunity to enter into the “unspoken” world of a horse as they learn and practice what it takes to take care of them. Skills will include learning their non-verbal language, grooming, picking out hooves, haltering and the proper way to lead a horse. As your child will discover how a horse communicates their needs to them, your child will discover how to verbally communicate his/her needs in a responsible manner. On the final day, the youth will apply their skills as they “communicate responsibly” the needs of their horse and human teammates through the Challenge Course.
