Get Curious About Going Back-to-School is program designed to help your child start the school year feeling capable and confident. Youth will learn that being successful in school isn’t one big decision—it’s a series of small, consistent actions. Each week they will identify one additional responsibility they need to practice before school begins and reinforce it through hands-on activities with a horse.
Math: Hands-on, movement-based challenges using creative props in the arena to strengthen flexible thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving — helping children build a stronger “math brain” and the confidence to try new strategies when the first answer doesn’t work.
Writing: Your child will create a Cinquain poem inspired by their horse partner. Don’t tell them, but they will be reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives while building descriptive language, organization skills, and confidence in expressing their ideas clearly.
Organization: While partnering with a horse, your child will learn practical strategies to take ownership of getting themselves ready for school: planning ahead, checking their own materials, and following through on responsibilities — building the habits and accountability needed so they are prepared without relying on you (parents) to manage the details for them.
This ground-based (no riding) program blends academics with life skills — helping your child head back to school curious, organized, and ready to learn. They will be having so much fun, they won’t know they are learning valuable skills.
