Healthy relationships begin with one important question:
What can I learn about myself first?

Get Curious About Stable Relationships is a six-week, ground-based equine-assisted learning program designed to help youth explore self-awareness, authenticity, and personal responsibility — the foundation of every healthy connection.

When youth partner with the same horse each week, curiosity replaces defensiveness. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” they begin asking, “What is this teaching me?”

Your youth will “Get Curious” about:

• How to regulate their emotions instead of reacting quickly
• How their tone and body language affect others
• Boundaries -Both setting and respecting them
• Trust — how it is built and how it can be repaired
• Personal responsibility and choices
• Resilience when things don’t go as planned

By the end of six (6) weeks, participants leave not only with a stronger partnership with their horse — but with practical tools to build relationships that are grounded, respectful, and stable in everyday life.

Dates:   Mondays, June 8 – July 13, 2026 

Time:  9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Who:  Grades 6 and UP

Location:  3135 West 22nd Street, Kearney, Nebraska

Program Size:  Limited to four (4) youth.

Registration Fee:

• $80 per youth (non-refundable)
• Because of the demand of this program, registration fee must be paid at the time of the registration to hold your youth’s place in the corral.

Additional information:

• There will be a 20-minute parent meeting on the first day.
• Each week intentionally builds on the previous session. Youth are asked to commit to all six-weeks.
• If a participant is unable to attend a scheduled session, make-up sessions are limited and are offered at the individual rate of $100 per hour. Payment must be received prior to the scheduled make-up session.
• If LyonHeart EAL needs to cancel a session, a make-up date will be scheduled at a time that is mutually convenient for all participants.
• All activities are completed in an out-door setting (corral and activity shelter).
• Closed-toed shoes are mandatory.
• No riding and previous horse experience needed.

Program value is $600 per individual. Thanks to our generous sponsors, the remaining costs have been covered by private donations, business sponsors and fundraising events.
