Do you find it tricky to explain the difference between “belonging and fitting-in” to your child? \nIf so\, then sign your youth up for this unique book club where we brush up on reading skills and learn the valuable life skill of belonging vs fitting-in while partnering with a horse\, of course! \nEquine-assisted activities will be based on the book: “The Amazing True Story of The Little White Horse Who Wanted to be Brown” by Rebecca J. SUMMARY:Stable Relationships - Grades 5-8
DESCRIPTION:This program is currently full. If you wish to be put waitlist:https://forms.gle/PqxURnsJWx3o2QYd8 \nStable Relationship program is a six-week program designed specifically for youth in currently in grades 5-8. This program harnesses the incredible power of horses to equip youth with positive character and leadership traits needed to develop healthy relationships at home\, school and life through social and emotional equine-assisted learning activities. The program focuses on a different goal each week while partnered with the same horse each week. A graduation ceremony will be held to celebrate accomplishments and learnings on the final day. \n\nYouth will be developing a relationship with one horse\, by paying very close attention to the body language of their horse\, and how they are communicating nonverbally to their horse and others.\n\n\nYouth will learn to independently groom\, halter and lead their horse through a variety of obstacle courses. Reflection journals will be completed each session.\n\n\nThere will be a 20-minute parent meeting on the first day.\nWho:  Youth who will be in Grades 5\, 6\, 7 & 8 this fall (or just completed grade 8) \nDates:  Six (6) consecutive Tuesdays\, beginning June 11 through July 23. (No program on July 2) \nTime:  6:00 – 8:00 p.m. \nLocation:  3135 West 22nd Street\, Kearney\, Nebraska \nProgram Size: \n\nLimited to five (5) youth.\nIt is imperative that your youth commits to attending all six sessions.\n\nRelease of Liability Form required: https://www.lyonheartequinelearning.org/release-of-liability/ \nRegistration Fee: \n\n$25 (non-refundable) holds your child’s place in the corral.\nDue to the high demand of this program\, the registration fee must accompany the registration.\nFirst come – first serve.
